Taking Care of our Clients Best Interest and helping the Community!
One of our clients had come to us in the fall asking us to tear down a house that was on their farm. With multiple dwellings and a concern for privacy they never rented the house out. After years of busy schedules and neglect of maintenance the house had fallen into disrepair. So when they approached us to do the demolition we brought up another avenue that was much more beneficial in many ways! We suggested that they donate the house to the local fire department for a practice burn. This would give the local fire department the opportunity to have a real fire action practice. This also allowed them to a significant tax benefit. We walked them through the process and set everything up with the fire department and the County Fire Marshall. After asbestos tests, removal and numerous little things the burn got scheduled! It was a night to remember as many fire departments got involved with lots of practice and the finale of the house going fully engulfed. The clients were amazed! The fire department was grateful! In the end everyone was happy. We are cleaning up and laying the foundation to turn the area into a native meadow! With our extensive background in property and land management if you have something unique to accomplish with your property or just need your lawn mowed we can help you out!
We recently purchased acreage outside of Lexington, VA. We knew we owned a “diamond in the rough”, but due to massive overgrowth on several acres of a previously timbered area, the views were blocked and it was difficult to determine the contour of the land. We needed a solution to quickly clear the brush while maintaining good stewardship in the process.
We found the website for Piedmont Land Management. Luke Omand, the owner of the company, made a personal visit to walk our property and helped us form a game plan to kick start our vision. He explained exactly what his forestry mulcher could do and the best way to apply it. Wow! After just two days of clearing, we now have a beautiful view of ten mountain ranges! Luke methodically removed everything with the exception of choice trees we wanted left on the property. We could have never achieved this without him. We look forward to more projects with Luke as we develop our property and would certainly recommend him to anyone.

Having a rental property can sometimes be difficult. Especially when managing from a distance. My family had moved out of state with my career. While we were gone, our tenants neglected our property to the point that the woods had taken over our yard. After interviewing several companies to help get control of the property and regain our once beautiful yard, we chose Piedmont Land Management. We have been extremely satisfied with the knowledge, attitude and quality of professional services that Piedmont Land Management has been able to provide. Luke Omand was key in helping us implement a solution to our overgrown property. Piedmont Land Management has an impressive range of areas of professional, courteous service that is unique and mostly unseen in today’s world as well as some pretty cool toys, um-tools. Most importantly, Luke fully understood what the key drivers were for effectively reaching our goal and has been in touch several times after the job was complete. We very much appreciate their hard working, professional, “can do” approach and ability to get the job done as promised (and on time) all within our budget. Collectively, these attributes have made Piedmont Land Management a pleasure to work with and I give a rating of “top notch” with 2 thumbs up. We will certainly call on them again.
